場面緘黙症の知識を社会に広める運動がアメリカで展開されています。 アメリカの緘黙児保護者団体SMG-CANの活動をぜひお知りください。 同団体サイトのトップページ左の欄にサイトの見出しが並んでいます。今日はその一番上の "Who are we?（私たちについて）"の内容を紹介します。そこで同団体の活動の目的や組織の概要が述べられています。 ------------------------------------ Who are we? 私たちについて We are parents and grandparents from all walks of life….Accountants, Engineers, Carpenters, Electricians, Pharmacists, Doctors, Lawyers, Veterinarians, Stay at Home Moms, Musicians, Secretaries, Bookkeepers, etc. 私たちは緘黙児をもつ父母、祖父母たちです。会計士、エンジニア、大工、電気技術者、薬剤師、医者、弁護士、獣医、専業主婦、音楽家、秘書、簿記係など、あらゆる職業の人々が集まっています。 And, we are Physicians, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, School Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, School Administrators, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, School Nurses, Researchers, Students and other Health and Education Professionals. また、私たちは、医師、心理学者、精神科医、学校心理士、ソーシャルワーカー、言語治療士、教師、学校長、作業療法士、カウンセラー、養護教諭、研究者、学生、その他の保健専門家、教育専門家です。 What we all have in common is that we have witnessed the pain of children who suffer in silence and we have experienced the frustration of not knowing how to help. 私たちに共通していることは、沈黙の中で苦しむ子どもたちの痛みを目の当たりにしながらも、彼らを助ける方法がわからないというフラストレーションを経験したことです。 We have come together to form a community to help one another and our children.
